School opening in the Spring term
You will be aware from the media that school opening is being discussed and in some cases plans are being changed.
The current decision for primary and preschool opening on 5th January remains the same so unless there are last minute changes that is what we are assuming and working on.
Our plans and risk assessments remain the same as before apart from the new plan to send reading books home safely. We believe that this plan is still safe so we will be starting to send books home as per the letter you received just before the holiday.
Staff and pupils will be reminded of the social distancing rules in school and out of school, the need to wash hands frequently and to wear clean clothes as often as possible. All essential visitors to school will be wearing masks at all times, non-essential visitors will not be coming into school.
Bags are still not permitted however the zip back containing your child's reading books will be able to go home and come back into school. These can only be used for books and letters.
Please make sure that you are also adhering to the rules of social distancing in and out of school and remember that only one adult is permitted to bring their child(ren) to school and collect them at the end of the day. If possible, please also wear a face covering while you are on school grounds. If you observe anyone behaving in an unsafe way, please report this to the school office either by email or phone. We must all work together to ensure that school remains a safe place for all.
Please see the most recent letter from the Local Authority via the link below.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year. Whilst it may not feel a very positive start to the new year, I am sure that we will see a gradual improvement in the months to come.
